Anne Hathaway joins the league of the blondes
I never would have expected it, but light shades look beautiful on the Les Miserables actress. Here she is at 2013’s Met Ball two days ago.

And yes, contrary to my picture, I am currently blonde.

Tommy Ton, my favourite (Canadian-born!) street style photographer continues to produce masterpieces for both his own blog and style.com. My broken purse has left me in a baggy mood, and so I present you with my favourite Tommy Ton bag shots of all time. Enjoy these beauties.

Moments of zen:
- The models’ fresh faces with their voluminous sidebraids
- The music
0:18 the Puritan look of the first dress on the runway
0:38 the shoes that are more than they appear to be…
1:25 the combination of the multicoloured dress with deep red shoes
1:52 the bag deco
3:06 the vest
3:23 the fur on the bag with the “handy” handle placement
4:33 the layered neckline of the dress
4:57 the layered neckline which suits this dress cut perfectly
6:02 the pockets for snacks!!
7:45 the use of blue lace
7:56 the print of this dress
Moments of chaos:
- the shaplessness and large fit of some of the dresses; if it’s not flattering on these ladies, it will not be flattering on anyone
- the lack of transition (hence the general monotony) from the top to the bottom of some dresses
- the use of bubbled lines

This semester I have something more important (and by definition more exciting) on my to-do list than school work. My background in music has secured me a position in my university’s theatre. Somehow I landed the position of costume designer!
(Maybe because that’s what I begged for)
These are just some pictures I Googled to get a feel for previous productions—there is no full version of the musical online and I have never seen it live!
So these images are the first step to my inspiration:

The story of Xanadu is that of the nine Greek muses, the leader of whom works to inspire a dead-inside 1980’s artist. For me, this means my task is to mix a little psychadelic 80’s vibe with a little Greek Goddess vibe. Here are some images I found to guide me.

I know what you’re thinking. ”Is that Zeus from Disney’s Hercules?” Hey, you’ve gotta draw from what you know.
Further ideas/sketches/notes to come!

1. With a peek of a collar
2. Under an open button-down
3. With a cute sash
4. With a collar necklace
5. With some fur
6. With a 60’s neck tie
